Unconditional Love of the People: The Missing Ingredient in the “Conservative Movement”

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”- I John 1:4

I don’t believe the “Conservative” or “Tea Party” movement is rooted in a Christian movement.

I have seen no evidence of that.

One of the things Jesus said is that the unbelieving world will know us by our LOVE, particularly for one another.

True Born again Christians understand that the responsibility of being an ambassador of Christ includes being able and willing to love those we do not “like”.

That means being willing to love those who attack us, lie on us, smear us, and constantly falsely accuse us.

In spite of the fact others do all of these things to us, true Christians have the Love of God shed abroad in their hearts and hold to a sincere love for others who are not like we are or where we are in our political ideology or relationship to God.

True Christians love others as Christ loves us.

I cannot see that kind of love in a political ideology or movement that is motivated by love of “Constitution”, but devoid of love for the very people who the Constitution is supposed to protect, particularly fellow “brethren”.

I often hear the concept: “Conservatives eat their own’.

If that is true, then it is because they also don’t even love their own.

Not unconditionally.

True Christians must not blame “liberals”, liberal media or what people on “the left” do, when we speak out of our own hearts with viciousness and hatred.

When someone is haste to throw another “under the bus”, gossip, attack, and publicly ridicule that person,  who is supposedly of “like mind” or like values, over any and every  difference, then that tells me there is no love in the heart of the one who does such a thing.

That tells me that the one who does such a thing has no fellowship with God, for God is not the author of confusion.

I am convinced that America does not need a “Conservative” or “Tea Party” movement, but a Spiritual Revival which will heal the hearts of Conservatives, Tea Party activists, liberals, and all others who are in need of God’s forgiveness, grace and guidance.

I am convinced that Conservatives/Tea Party folks rarely exhibit unconditional love for one another and for each other because too many have yet to come to terms with their own need of God’s unconditional love.

It’s a humbling thing when one comes face to face with the fact we are truly nothing without God.

It turns arrogance into humility in a hurry.

Only when Conservative and Tea Party Activists embrace their own desperate need of  God’s grace and mercy shall they be able to love one another and others unconditionally.

Only then, furthermore, will “Conservative/Tea Party activism” be able to penetrate the heart and minds of those who are called “liberals”, for love conquers all.’

Hatred only breeds hatred.
